CKCB - July Kit 2014

What a great kit to start back with!  I just loved the colours, and had fun rummaging through my stash!

The original kit is by Noel Mignon:  Balboa Kit.  It has loads of papers and embellishments, with bright colours and chalkboard accents:

I have added black so that I can make some chalkboard embellishments. I have no idea which company produced the cardstock, but I am inclined to say that they are Rosies Studio.  I dont really like yellow, so I have excluded this from my version of the kit!

I admit it....

I have been a bit slack lately!  I didn't realise how long it had been since I have posted a blog...  Life has a way of getting away sometimes, and I would love to say that I have still been crafting and just not posting - but the reality is that I haven't really been doing much on the creative side of things.  In April, I started working again.  It's only part time, but losing those few hours really impacted on my creativity!  I refuse to use this as an excuse though, so I am jumping back in - BOOTS and all!  xxx

CSI: 113 - Funky Whanau

I just loved these colours this week, there is something about pink/aqua/grey, that just makes scrapping a breeze!!!  I am demonstrating on 29/03/14 at Spotlight Wairau, so I chose to use products from there as well as fitting it into the colour schemes for CSI.  This is the case file for the week:

Here is how I solved case 113:
Scheme - the colours are all there
Evidence – Ledger Paper, camera, hearts, owls, pen work and Stripes

Testimony – Use typewriter font, IW:  love, memory, family:  “I love that Daddy works for Vodafone.  They throw the best family event for all their staff.  I will always have the visions of you kids, protecting me from the crazy clowns on stilts, in my memory.  What an amazing Funky Day!  Feb 08 2014”

CSI: 112 - Big Sistas

I really loved the colours for this weeks challenge!  Blues and greens are my favourite to scrap with!  I had the perfect photos too!

Scheme - the colours are all there
Evidence – patterned background, something sheer, frames, buttons, crystals, floral pattern

Testimony – Create a vellum pocket for journalling:  “Both Madison and Katie Rose were so excited to meet their new baby brother!  Nana drove them both to the hospital in the morning so that they could meet Riley before they went to school and Kindy.  These photos are the first cuddles both girls had with their baby brother!

CSI: 111 - Puppy Love

I was totally not sure about these colours, but they really work!


This is what I come up with:

CKCB Challenge #3 February 2014

Over at CKCB, challenge number 3 was to make a card (or something) in 10 minutes.  I had a go, and with an idea in my head from 2 peas, my kit for February, and a friend to keep me honest (and take photos!)

Proof that I was timing myself!

Stuffing a clear cellophane bag with a 6 x 4 cardstock and pretty sequins

Sewing the top of bag closed, and around the edge of the bag

Time check - Pretty quick!

A bit of washi and its nearly done

added a heart and some gems, and it was all done - with time to spare!
