I love these colours together and the blue matt really highlights all three inks. I did second generation stamping to get two shades of pink and two shades of blue.

This is a very simple technique to master. The best way to do it is to create a template of circles. I made mine out of recycled packages that my dies came in. Then I used three different circle dies to cut circles. I ink through the circles using ink and sponges. When I get a few colours down, I leave it to dry for a few minutes before I use an applicator with white Daisy ink.
This is the design that I came up with:

The strawberries are made from felt and we're taught to me yet a friend who makes beautiful felt creations.
I used an embroidery hoop, making a circle layout that can be used to decorate your home.

I used Kaisercraft Blu Belle paper, and tore the paper rather than cutting. All the roses were hand rolled after tearing spirals. Lots of layers, stickers and some die cut leaves finished off this layout. When I stuck down the pieces, I left the edges so that I could curl them up.

The edge of the hoop has a strip of paper that I cut slightly wider than I needed and then folded back. I just love the hint of brown on the reverse side of the blue.

I only did this one hoop, but I can imagine a cluster of these with different photos and different sizes of hoops.Chrissyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103017304605305290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092028214351354557.post-14378532251240423402014-09-14T02:35:00.003-07:002014-09-14T02:35:40.182-07:00CTMH *squeal*Ok, so my exciting news is this... I have signed up to be a CTMH (that's Close to My Heart) consultant! CTMH have a fantastic range of papers, stamps and accessories to create with. One of the things I love are the kits that they put together (Workshop on the Go), with all co-ordinated products and even layout designs. I have no photo's yet, but I will put some up tomorrow.Chrissyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103017304605305290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092028214351354557.post-71150498923246035832014-08-02T22:08:00.000-07:002014-08-02T22:08:05.706-07:00CKCB August 2014We had a few options to choose from this month as we are counterfeiting Studio Calico's Penny Arcade. I used Craftables Riverstone Cardstock cut to size, then stamped feathers in Black Versafine ink onto White Craftables Cardstock and fussy cut them to stick randomly on the cardstock. The thinner feather is from Amy Tangerine and the other is from a magazine
I went through my stamps to choose some for the kit, but couldn't decide, so will just use what ones I need/want to use through the month! I had heaps of fun colouring this Lili of the Valley stamp, and layered up papers. The tricky part is on the inside....
I inked the clouds onto the background, and then added 4 cityscapes in white, light grey, dark grey and black. I loved how it looked, but it needed a little something extra, so Jack asked me to put in a plane... This is what I came up with.

So when Christy at TiddlyInks sent an email to let everyone know that she was having a sale on her acrylic stamps, I ordered the "Wrynn - Hanging Around" that I wanted and a few fairies and dragons. I had to use the "Fairy Happy Day" stamp for Jessica because it is so cute, and I know she appreciates the fact I have made it just for her.

I used Momento to stamp up the fairy, and the impression was crisp and clear right from the first stamp. I added extra colour into the daisies rather than leaving them white, and found the design of the fairy fabulous to colour! She just came to life very easily. I decided to make it a pink card because I wanted to use the pretty pink flowers, and colour matched my paper and cardstock accordingly. Jessica is a Kindy Glitz kind of girl, so I used it on the daisies and her magical wings!

I had so much fun making this card, and cant wait to try out the other stamps that I ordered! If you like the image, you can purchase directly from the artist at: http://www.tiddlyinks.com/ but remember that at the moment it is only digital stamps available until September.

I also used some of the paper to make a gift bag to co-ordinate with the card!
I just loved the colours, and had fun rummaging through my stash!

The original kit is by Noel Mignon: Balboa Kit. It has loads of papers and embellishments, with bright colours and chalkboard accents:

Here is my counterfeit:

Cardstock:

I have added black so that I can make some chalkboard embellishments. I have no idea which company produced the cardstock, but I am inclined to say that they are Rosies Studio. I dont really like yellow, so I have excluded this from my version of the kit!

I didn't realise how long it had been since I have posted a blog... Life has a way of getting away sometimes, and I would love to say that I have still been crafting and just not posting - but the reality is that I haven't really been doing much on the creative side of things. In April, I started working again. It's only part time, but losing those few hours really impacted on my creativity! I refuse to use this as an excuse though, so I am jumping back in - BOOTS and all! xxxChrissyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103017304605305290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092028214351354557.post-79485536453972221752014-03-16T20:26:00.001-07:002014-03-16T20:26:03.654-07:00CSI: 113 - Funky WhanauI just loved these colours this week, there is something about pink/aqua/grey, that just makes scrapping a breeze!!! Little Pigs. I love that he has a
favourite as it makes life simple to not have to choose a story every night –
he just grabs the book and hops straight into bed. I just love to read this story to him, and I
use different voices as the narrator, the wolf and the piggies. Riley adds in lines from the story and is
great at huffing and puffing! Last night
we got to the first little pig and Riley told me, “if I lived there, I would
let the wolf in…” I explained to him, “but sweetie, the wolf wants to EAT the piggy” I will never forget the look on his face when
he asked me, “Wolves don’t eat kids though… Aye Mummy?” I smiled and said, “No, honey, wolves don’t eat
kids”. Luckily he hasn't heard the story
of the boy who cried wolf!

I am running so behind on my challenges, but thought that I would still join in this month with a counterfeit kit challenge - better late than never? I really love this kit, the colours and the patterns really appeal to me! This is the kit that we are counterfeiting for the month. It is by:

Kits de Somni

I started off with some cardstock as that is what I use for my base sheet when I craft, and these are the colours I pulled out of my stash:

I didn't have many papers in the correct colours or patterns, but that's ok, I have a huge stamp collection and ink collection for this reason!

From top to bottom they are:

Counterfeited: White Cardstock stamped with a variety of hearts using: Momento Rose Pink, Angel Pink, Sky Blue and Versacolour Sand Beige
Counterfeited: White Cardstock with punched hearts glued and then stitched
Counterfeited: White Cardstock stamped with arrows (Same colours as above with Momento Grey Flannel as well)
Bo Bunny white with black polka dot
Sugar and Spice "Hollywood" chevron

For my embellishments, I Counterfeited:

Black Chalboard peices using black cardstock, white embossing powder and Versamagic White cloud ink and a white souffle pen for definition. I then die cut shapes to suit each picture
Die cut hearts in a selection of sizes and colours
Pink, silver and red sequin scatters (no holes in them)
White and pink heart pins
Jar stamped and coloured and hearts stuck on and bakers twine around the neck of the jar
Polaroid frame in pink with a white banner stamped with love you and a punched mini heart
Vellum stamped in red brilliance hearts
and a scrap of paper with a jar (Dear Lizzy pad originally)

and the rest of the embellishments:

Counterfeited Chevron bag
Black Pearls
"Fly Away" paper scrap
Black and white spots and stripes scraps
White doily

This is how I keep the embellishments while I am working with them (along with a couple of ribbons, washi tapes and punches):

This time, I also thought I would chuck in a couple of extra Kaisercraft stamp sets:

I hope that you have enjoyed looking at my kit - I had heaps of fun counterfeiting this month!Chrissyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103017304605305290noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092028214351354557.post-55352053871277926162014-02-09T20:29:00.002-08:002014-02-09T20:29:48.962-08:00Birthday Card for Helen 2014I got a pad of Rosies 6 x 6 Chantilly lace, and I had to use it for Helen to make her birthday card - the colours and paris theme reminds me of her. I decided to have another go at one of the designs I did in the purple and pink, but maturing it with subtle colours, buttons and more natural tones - this is what I came up with:

It reminds me of a card that I saw on the internet, but I cant remember who it was that did it - still a bit different, but close enough to see a resemblance. I find it funny that you can have your own ideas and in tweaking them they end up looking like someone else's creation. I would love to credit the card maker so if you have seen anything like this, please let me know so that I can link and reference them.Chrissyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103017304605305290noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092028214351354557.post-88700627426506160072014-02-09T20:13:00.001-08:002014-02-09T20:23:33.695-08:00Project LifeI was asked to do a Project Life Demonstration in store at Spotlight, so I did this page and showed the customers how to put a PL page together. I was given the colours, photos and inserts to use, and this is what I ended up with:

I didn't really know what to put in for journalling, so I left space for this to be added by the owner of the photos - this is what i often do when I am putting together books and feature canvas's for customers.

I just love the colours in this pack, and thought they would make great fronts for cards. After watching a you tube video from two peas, I fell in love with the idea that was on there to use the 4 x 6 card in a plastic pocket cut from a PL protector sheet and put sequins inside. I wanted to try this, but couldn't bring myself to cut up the protector sheet, so I used a cellophane 4 x 6 bag and stitched around the edges. All the products used are from Spotlight, and I really think it turned out AWESOME!!!

of those proud Mommy moments when I was told to attend the annual prize giving
at Bayview School. I was told that
Madison was getting an award, but I wasn’t told what it was for. You can imagine the pleasure I took from
watching Madison get her name called out for the winner of the Visual Artist of
the year Award! Out of the entire
school, she won the highly coveted award with a still life drawing of a hanging
floral basket. She was nominated with two other strong
artists and her teacher was blown away by the realism of her drawing and the shading
used to create a 3D look. The next day, her teacher told me the story of how
Madison won the award with her still life drawing and that Madison deserved to
win. Everyone in her class was impressed with the art that she shared
throughout the year. I just love that
Madison loves art as much as I do!”

<span style="background: white; color: #080808; font-family: "Century Gothic","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.5pt; line-height: 115%;">Testimony – IW: know, cool and awesome “I found a
listing on Trademe for the cutest kitten.
He was a little boy, with cool grey tabby markings on his head and
back. I arranged with the owners to go
and have a look and as they were leaving the country the next day. I took
my money with me to buy him (if he was as cute in real life as he was in the
photo’s). When I got there, the lady
picked him up and bought him over to me.
He was so tiny that he fitted in my hand. He was a little bit timid, and I thought he
was AWESOME! So I handed over the money
and went to go. The lady and her
daughter started shouting at each other in their mother tongue and the daughter
said, “My mother wants to know if you want the last kitten as well?” I said, “no thank you, I only bought enough
for one kitten” and the mother said, “no money, no money – you take”. The daughter was very upset and she whispered
to me, “please take her, we leave the country tomorrow and we will have to ‘get
rid’ of her, if you don’t take her”. I
called Jack and he only had one word…
NO. So I packed up the little guy
in a box and got in the car and started to drive home. Jack called me before I got to the end of the
street and said, “Oh… All right…” I
ended the call and raced back to the house and knocked on the door and took the
little girl. When I got home, Jack and I
both agreed that they were better together and I know that it will cost a
little bit more, but the look on the girls face when they saw that we had two
new kittens was worth it. When I told
them the story of how we ended up with two kittens, they were relieved because
they both thought that they had to choose one…
I explained to them that while I chose the little boy, the girl was
special as she was our Buy one get one free kitten.

So last weeks challenge was a bit self reflective for me, but it fitted the "case":
I was really surprised when I saw the colours because I had just got Kaisercraft SweetPea on sale and the colours were perfect. I got the collection to use on the girls 2014 dance pages, but I am sure there is enough in the pack to do this challenge. Any way, here is what I came up with:

I was a little sad this New Years to say good bye to 2013, as I have accomplished so much. I feel better within myself and have been actively trying to get fit by going for my morning walks and drinking more water than usual. I put myself out there by starting my own blog and posting some of the scrapbook layouts and cards that I make. I smile as much as I can and laugh with my children. These were my resolutions for 2013 and they have all been achieved. So on reflection, 2013 was a good year for me and now I get to close the door on it and start thinking about 2014.
Unlike most of us, I don’t set my new year’s resolutions on the 1st. This is because I found over the years that I would forget what I was going to try to achieve or I would set my goals so high and unrealistic that it just never happened. For Christmas, Jack ordered me two new BIG sets of Spectrum Noir Pens... Lights and Brights and they finally arrived last week!! Then Lili Of the Valley had a huge sale on 140 of their stamps and I got 6 new ones which arrived at the beginning of this week. So I am feeling rather spoiled at the moment! I am afraid to say that my current addiction (which changes from week to week!) is colouring stamped images to use for my card toppers. I really love that I can personalise cards even further making sure that the recipient gets something that they love!
We have a 7 year old boys party to go to on the 02/02/14, and I originally was going to use a stamp of a surfing cat by Penny Black to make him a birthday card, but his pet Kat passed away yesterday - so a change of tactics is required! I have coloured in one of my new LOTV stamps "Astronaut" and made a space card for him. He is really into Star Wars, so it's not quite right, but I just loved the stamp and had to use it!
I have stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink and coloured with Spectrum Noir Pens. The background papers are from an old Rosies Studio A5 pad. The Birthday Wishes stamp is Wild Rose, the ribbon is American Crafts and the star sequins are from Spotlight. Chrissyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16103017304605305290noreply@blogger.com1
